The Story
Snakes have a long and rich history in jewelry dating back to Ancient Greece and Rome, where snakes symbolized wisdom. The Victorians often used snakes to symbolize everlasting love and eternity.
This antique snake charm pendant is a beautiful and chic piece. Made during the late 1800s from rich materials, the intertwined snake bodies wrap around each other. One is done in 18 karat yellow gold with a sapphire in its head and two ruby eyes. The rich gold is deeply engraved with a snakeskin finish. The second is done in 18 karat rose gold with a platinum topped section filled with 20 rose cut diamonds ranging in size from 1.0 to 1.7 mm each. A gorgeous green demantoid garnet is set in the head along with its own ruby eyes on either side.
Substantial in size it measures 1.92 inches long. A special and unique find that's filled with symbolism, it's sure to be your new favorite heirloom.
