Impeccably sourced, rare vintage jewelry
edwardian diamond and ruby bug 14k gold charm
The Story
Cute as a bug! Originally found as an Edwardian era stick pin, we reimagined this special and bright bug into a super cute charm. Fully articulated throughout, the blinged out wings stand out front and center. Done in platinum topped 14k yellow gold, they're set with 12 old single cut diamonds, 6 on each wing, ranging in size from 0.01 carats to 0.02 carats for a total diamond weight of approximately 0.27 carats. For a pop of color, a bezel set old cut ruby sits at top as the head of the bug. Spindly 14k yellow gold legs and antennae are found at the top and sides along with a solid 14k yellow gold body.
We had our expert jeweler remove the original stick pin and place a matching 14k yellow gold bale on the top left leg making it hang perfectly askew. A sweet charm add to your charm bracelet, wear as a necklace, earring, or stacked with your favorite pieces.
How do you want to wear your new charm? Choose a 16” or 18” chain, a hoop earring, or just the charm itself.
