The Story
A gorgeous antique piece from the Art Nouveau era, perfect for holding your loved ones close. Created in rich 10 karat yellow gold, a repoussé design of a water scene with a lily and lily pad's make up the naturalistic form, quintessential for Art Nouveau.
The design continues to the back with flowers and the hand engraved monogram "MJ". The locket shows its age in the best possible way with the rich patina making the raised work pop and gold glow.
Art Nouveau was a brief, but glorious period of design at the end of the 19th century, circa 1895-1905. Characteristic for its depiction of natural elements, particularly flora and fauna, beautiful women were often shown as well. This locket is a fantastic example of the art form.
