Impeccably sourced, rare vintage jewelry
art deco "sunrise" guilloche enamel 14k gold locket and chain
The Story
A gorgeous antique locket in amazing condition, this Art Deco era piece is a treasured find.
The 14k yellow gold locket measures just over an inch round and features a beautiful sunrise pattern starting at the bottom with rays moving upwards and outwards in yellow enamel. Surrounding the edge is a cornflower blue enamel rim. The locket is double sided with the enameling on both the front and back.
In fantastic condition, the locket includes the original chain done in 14k yellow gold with the corresponding yellow and blue enamel links. The chain without the locket is 24 inches and 25.23 inches in total when worn together.
Guilloche is a type of decorative metal work done by creating detailed and precise patterns. In jewelry and decorative arts, its usually finished with enamel on top making the "engine turning" patterns pop. This locket and chain are gorgeous examples of it. You'll treasure it forever.
