edwardian sapphire, diamond, platinum, and 14k gold tiara ring

Sold

From circa 1910, an antique Edwardian sapphire and diamond ring in the shape of a tiara!  This 14K yellow gold ring is platinum topped; a common practice of the Edwardian period believed to make the diamonds to appear whiter.

It features a center oval cut sapphire, about 0.85 carats, surrounded by 18 Old European Cut diamonds ranging in size from 0.04 carats to 0.07 carats which total approximately 0.79 carats in total diamond weight.

The arrangement and setting of the diamonds resemble a tiara but intended to be worn on your finger instead of your head.  This ingenious ring makes for a fabulous right-hand ring or a unique engagement ring!
