The Story
Snakes have a long and rich history in jewelry dating back to Ancient Greece and Rome, where snakes symbolized wisdom. The Victorians often used snakes to symbolize everlasting love, with a coiled snake in particular representing eternity.
This snake ring is a beautiful and unique example. Made during the mid-to-late 20th century from rich 14 karat yellow gold, a snake band wraps around the finger. With simple and chic lines, the head and tail meets in the middle. At the center of the head is a cabochon cut emerald measuring approximately 1.75 mm. A navette of 26 rose cut diamonds circle surround the center finishes the ring.
A gorgeous snake ring, it's unusual in design, that's filled with symbolism.
