french ruby and sapphire toi et moi 18k gold ring
The Story
A bright and colorful antique "Toi et Moi" ring made in France in the early 1900s.
Made from 18 karat yellow gold, at center is a bi-color band set with eight antique single cut diamonds for a total diamond weight of approximately 0.16 carats. On top and bottom, a pear-shaped ruby and sapphire cabochon are each prong set. The stones, measuring approximately 6.7 mm x 5 mm, are rich in color. They look like pieces of colorful candy and give the ring a bright pop.
Measuring 0.69 inches tall, it's a great size and shape, not too big or too small. It would make a lovely engagement ring, but it's unique look and style make it perfect for any occasion.
A French saying, “Toi et Moi” means "You and Me" and in jewelry refers to a ring that showcases two stones symbolizing two people. These were common engagement rings during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, symbolizing two souls that are intertwined.
