The Story
A gorgeous vintage medallion pendant, perfect for celebrating the most wonderful time year. Made in France from warm 18 karat yellow gold, a Christmas tree with lights, ornaments, candles, and a star are seen on both sides of the piece. Bright and beautiful red, green, blue, and white Plique-à-jour enamel is masterfully done throughout. It finishes with a roped design around the exterior. And, it's in amazing condition.
Plique-à-jour, meaning letting in daylight in French, is an enameling technique done with no backing which allows light to shine through. It's extremely hard to make, but the final product resembles stained glass.
