The Story

Beautiful and substantial, this Victorian starburst locket from circa 1880s-1900, is an antique treasure.

Large in scale, this 14 karat yellow gold piece is striking.  On the front is a starburst shape made from raised gold.  Starting at the center and moving out from its eight points are 22 pearls ranging in size from 2 mm down to 1.25 mm.  Prong set at center is a light green emerald measuring approximately 3.75 mm x 3.5 mm.  A raised scallop of sky blue enamel encircles the center and finishes with eight small light green emeralds accenting the exterior.  This unusual center feature is a colorful and bright focal point.

The reverse is plain gold for a simple and classic look.  It opens to hold two oval photos so you can keep your loved ones close.  Measuring 2.1 inches tall with its tapered bale by 1.28 inches wide, it's a substantial piece.  We love it worn as an heirloom locket on its own or stacked with other favorite necklaces.

It comes without a chain so you can add it to your favorite antique necklace, but if you would like to purchase a chain with it, use the Inquire About This Item Box.
