victorian onyx and 14k gold chandelier earrings

The Story

A pair of big, bold, and dramatic Victorian era chandelier earrings in 14 karat rosy-yellow gold.  Each earring has 10 pieces of bezel set onyx in different shapes and sizes.  The oval centerpiece has a bezel set seed pearl with four leaves radiating from the center.  Three hanging teardrop shaped pieces hang down giving them movement and swing.  They hang on a hinged kidney wire hook and at 2.23" in length, they have a bold and powerful feel.

During Queen Victoria's long reign, her beloved husband Albert passed away throwing her into an 80 year mourning period in which she exclusively wore black.  This created a new wave in the way people dressed, extending to jewelry, where onyx and jet were often used to create pieces like this.

If you're looking for a statement pair of earrings, look no further than this chic pair!
