The Story

A super cool vintage medallion pendant, with color and style for days.  Made in Italy, circa 1960s-1970s, from warm 18 karat yellow gold its anchor motif is right in step with the time.  Bright and beautiful blue and green Plique-à-jour enamel is seen throughout the pendant.  It's in amazing condition for its age, with the blue representing the buoy and the green surrounding the anchor.

Plique-à-jour, meaning letting in daylight in French, is an enameling technique done with no backing which allows light to shine through.  It's extremely hard to make, but the final product resembles stained glass.  This one is in amazing condition and should be worn with care.

This beautiful piece hangs on a new 18-inch 14K yellow gold F&B chain.  It looks great worn on its own or paired with other necklaces.  This pendant glows!
